  2. Hi Emma,
We are still thinking of you often and checking the blog. Really hope you are still making steady progress. From my own illness I have got to realise the little steps can really add up over the long run provided you don't overdo it.
Best wishes, John, Claire, Connie and Emily

  4. Hey Emma

Great news, so glad to hear you're allowed home, that'll be so nice for you and your family. I had 2 weeks in Warwick hospital a few years ago, boy was I glad to get home after that.
Just come back from a week in Bavaria, did a bit of running swimming and cycling and climbed an Alp.
Sounds like you're doing really well. Well done.

  6. I am so pleased to hear you are on your way home, or you are probably home already by now. I bet you can't stop smiling and the kids will be chuffed to bits to have you home safe and sound. I am still not well and do not want to pass on to you or your family the bugs I am carrying around with me at the moment, I will explain as and when I see you next. We are off on hols on Monday for a week but I will drop you a text when we get back to see how things are going. I really can not believe you have done as well as you have as quickly as you have and your doctors must be really pleased with your progress. I am not underestimating how long a recovery you have in front of you now but with your family and friends around to support you through the up's and down's I am sure you will take it all in your stride. This is fantastic news for you all with love and best wishes Clare, Steve, Jack & of course your little friend Pippa x x x

  9. Hi Emma,
We got back from our holiday to find that you are walking!!! What a feet! Well done. I was shocked by reading that the Drs thought you'd still be in by Christmas, but I also doubt that - they dont know your grit and dettermination! Keep it up and hope life is feeling a bit better for you with such recovery so far.
Apologies at not getting to see you before we went away and we are off again after a few days turn around to see Davids parents in France. They have paid for our tickets as his Mum is unwell and had a brain scan two weeks ago but still no further forward in finding out what is causing her pain, so we wanted to go and see her as you can imagine.
Alot going on otherwise with me and family that I wont bore you with, however I will certainly try and come in to see you at some point. In the meantime I may write you an old fashioned letter by sanil mail to give you something to look at!
Keep going and keep up the good work!
Love Heather, David and Willow XX

  10. Hi Emma
Really pleased to hear that you are walking; we often think of you and hope you are doing well. Great news to hear that you are eating, but with hospital food that may not be much fun! We'll keep checking in on your progress and hope you are home soon.

  11. Hi Emma, Ive just telephoned the clinic in Leamington and they,ve told me the latest news about your recovery. You seem to be doing very well which is great. So pleased that progress is being maintained. I was sure you would cope and fight to be fit and well again. I know you are still in hospital and have a way to go and it must have been tough at the beginning, but well done so far.
All the very best for a speedy and complete recovery. I miss my sessions with you. Judy.

  13. This all sounds really great, up and walking around. I am surprised you haven't got up, gone down stairs in the lift and walked out the front door to the nearest bus stop and gone home......lol
It would be nice to know how long that piece of string really is. We are off on hols next week and will try and pop in to see you before we go. We have all had a virus and didn't want to come in and complicate things so thats why I didn't get back in last week. I have been thinking of you all week as Pip has had her final appointment at Ross this week. Her finishing measurements are fab, cranial index from 100% down to 88% and A/sym from 20mm down to 3mm and I am really glad it's all over and done with now. Today is also her 2nd birthday and when we blew out her candles we wished for you to hurry home to your family very soon.
Love and best wishes from us all and hope to see you very soon x x x

  14. Amazing news Emma!! Can't quite believe that in the last week you have not only sat up but started walking. Last time we spoke think you said that the doctors thought you might be in til Xmas. If I was a betting person, I reckon you could be out by Half Term-possibly sooner, knowing you. Keep positive. You obviously not only are strong physically but have amazing power of the mind. That will get you through this. Much love. S xx

  15. Hi Emma
'Walking' WOW!! well done you, I never expected any less from you in such a short period. You really are amazing. Really strange as I had a dream the other night that i was collecting the kids from the HI-5 club in the village and whilst stood waiting for my kids you walked in casually to get yours! I was initially very shocked - then I woke up, and when I thought about it in the morning I actually thought - well would I be? Your stamina and shear determination is fantastic and is enough to amaze anybody.
I hope you are feeling ok in yourself, it must be a real climb some days, sorry I haven't been in, I will try and sort that soon. Hope Graham and kids are ok too as I haven't seen them with kids doing clubs each week and work etc.
Anyway best I don't write a full letter! Loads of love from all of us and keep up the good work.

  23. Hi Emma
Have heard from Graham that your operation went well and that you are beginning to walk, that's great news! I saw your client Liz Wise last week, (thanks for reconmending me to her), she was asking after you. Keep on being positive (as you usually are!) and i am sure with the walking you will start to gain weight and get to be at home. Jo

  24. Hi Emma
I gather that the ops went very well last tuesday and I appologies for not comming back to you but I hope you got my last sms. Fantastisk to hear the news. I am very moved as I easily remember the time when I was in your situation. The good thing is that you are strong and positive and therefore will recover very well. Turn the hard time positive because they will pop in now and then. I have booked a time for saturday afternoon to come and visit you. With regards to my last sms I am not sure you got that so Tamzin's due date is 7 October. I am so excited and cant wait. Ups my nest patient is here so I will finish here and will be in contact soon. 29. Emma,

I wanted to send you a note to wish you all the best and ask how you are feeling? Wayne has been giving me updates.

I did the Nottingham Outlaw last week and had a great race well two tirds of a great race. The swim and I give the credit to you was awesome. 1 hour and 04 another 8 minutes off my PB and with 800 other people a good result. On to the bike and i did a 6hr 03 which is a big step up in class for me. At the end of the bike i felt great but unfortunately had not eaen enough and ran a 5 hour marathon!.

The real reason for telling you this story is when i was getting my bags a lady in the transition tent saw my Stratford outfit and said"how is Emma?". It was Jackie i think you and she did your level 1 and 2 together and you treated her mother. She sends her love and sorry if i have got her name wrong.

I have sent Rob Minton the splits of the man who won the 45 - 49 category in the race and that will be our objectives for next year. I was quicker than him in the swim, i need to take another half hour of the bike and then run a 3hr 45 marathon. Sounds easy on paper! I will be needing your help in the autumn and winter to get me on track for this.

Let me know how you are

Best wishes and sincere thanks for all those Saturdays

    Douglas

I will keep popping on to read updates on your progress and once you are home I will pop round when your ready for visitors. I had physio at home after my accident and when things had settled down I then went to Stratford physio department for my weekly sessions. If you need a driver at any point to get you there and back let me know as I don't work Wed/Fri and I really don't mind helping out (I truely mean it Emma). If it wasn't for you my little girl wouldn't be as physically well as she is and I can't thank you enough for what you have done for her. 49. Hi Emma, We have been hearing how things were going but its great to log on and say Hi knowing you will read this in person. Great to hear that the op went well but sorry you are in pain. Hopefully as things go on that will improve. I have been trying to see a date I can visit before we get tied up with going away and having only one car does restrict, however I will keep checking and try to get over. I presume next weeks dairy will come on line soon or am I just being thick and not doing it properly? I will get David to ensure I'm doing it right when he gets back home. Your not missing lots of sunshine if thats any conslolation lying in bed, a real autumnal feel today, perhaps its waiting for you to get back home and then the sun will come out and celebrate! Keep smiling and focus on sitting up very soon. With very best wishes love Heather, David and Willow XX

  53. emma glad the surgey went smoothly. I am sure the pain will subside quickly. Is it worse than the pain of doing a triathlon ?I spent tues night in Warwick A and E (your favorite place) with my eldest son who collapsed at home after allergic reaction to medication for tonsilitus, so my first morniing at clinic started with very blurry eyes. No probs however and hopefully will be invited back! God knows how you work from that wide bench. All I can say is you must have very long arms! Hope to see you again soon Kate.

Stay confident and keep that incredible focus that you have. I'm away over the next week(ish) but shall try and book myself a slot to come and see you soon if that's OK.

  86. Hi Emma, I was so sorry to hear about your accident. I arrived at the SNHC yesterday with a full afternoon, only to be greeted with a frantic Martin and Claire trying to get everything ready for the afternoon shift. So you did not miss much there! Number one treatment room looks fab, so you have that to look forward to on your return. The best of luck with the operation. I'm sending you lots of healing energy. Please stay possitive! 87. Hi Emma, just sending you all the very best wishes from the Acupuncture clinc, and hoping you are feeling a little better and improving day by day. I hope you are taking your Arnica!!! and there is an acupuncture point called 'bone-binder' which astonishes doctors, when bones start to heal a thrid of the time quicker. It's on the lateral side of the foot, just distal to the distal end of the fifth metatarsal bone, you could do acupressure on it, if you like, or email me and I will call in and do the point for you.
But defo the Arnica. love and healing
